Tues.  Nov. 1	Dr. Sadler in Honduras--No regular class meeting this week!! Do the following instead of coming to class today In-depth look at scaffolding collaboration online (learning styles) On the Learning Styles Discussion Padlet, please note a way in which you can address AT LEAST two of the learning styles assigned to the groups (Auditory, Tactile, Visual, & Kinesthetic).   Give concrete examples!! Homework: Klimanova & Dembovskaya (2013). L2 Identity, Discourse, and Social Networking in Russian. Hanna & Nooy (2003). A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. What are some advantages & disadvantages of this social network for language teaching? How would you use this social network to enhance a language learning activity (e.g. propose a task)? Does the social network exclude any groups (e.g. language level or age) and can it be adapted to that group? Be prepared to talk about your Social Network findings next Tuesday in class!!!! Homework:  Carefully look at this PowerPoint discussing Competencies.  Add questions to the slides where you have them, and try to answer other students questions as well!
